Do you offer delivery?
Yes! We offer delivery from Sunshine Coast to Brisbane.
Do you have somewhere to store our car during our hire period?
Yes! We have a locked shed available at the depot address.
Can you take Frontier Tourer's hire cars onto Fraser Island?
Yes! We will arrange the 4WD vehicle permit.
There is a barge that leaves from Inskip Point approx. every 30 mins from 6am - 5pm daily, run by Manta Ray Barges. The price for a 4WD is $141.40 (return) and includes all passengers in the vehicle. We can also arrange this ticket on your behalf prior to your booking.
Fraser Island has a law that prohibits rental vehicles to store anything on the roof rack, which limits the amount of gear that can be taken. If you are camping on Fraser Island, we would recommend only 2-3 adults per vehicle, as they are only small 4WDs and don’t have a lot of storage space in the boot with the fridge installed.
Do you provide camping gear?
We offer two Premium Camping Packages in addition to the 4WD hire. Please feel free to contact us for a more detailed list of what's included.
How much of a deposit is required to secure the booking?
A 20% deposit is required to secure the booking. Remaining hire fee & bond is due the day prior to collecting the vehicle.
Is the deposit refundable?
We require at least 7 days notice prior to your start date for cancellations for you to receive a full refund of your deposit.
7+ days - Full refund
2-7 days - 50% refund of deposit
Less than 48hrs - Deposit is non-refundable
What is the bond payment for, and is it refundable?
The bond payment is fully refundable and is designed to cover any fines, tolls or damage to the vehicle during your hire.
How does your insurance work?
All our vehicles are insured for any drivers listed on our Hire Agreement. All drivers must hold an Open Driver's Licence. Our insurance is not limited to Australian licences. Our comprehensive insurance policy covers the vehicle to travel on all listed roads, including the main tracks on Fraser Island. Please refer to our terms & conditions for a full list of what our insurance covers.
The bond payment is designed to cover the insurance excess, should something happen to the vehicle during your hire.
Driver's are encouraged to decide for themselves if they need their own personal travel insurance.
Do you offer excess reduction?
Yes, we offer an insurance excess reduction.
All our vehicles come with comprehensive insurance that covers drivers holding a valid open driver’s licence. In the event of an accident, you are responsible for an insurance excess. You have the following options:
Standard Excess – $5,500
This is included with your booking . You may choose to purchase third-party travel insurance to cover this amount. If so, please ensure your policy covers 4WD vehicles and travel on K'gari (if applicable). Some travel insurance providers offer a $0 excess option.
Reduced Excess – $2,750
Add $22/day to your booking.
Reduced Excess – $1,500
Add $50/day to your booking.
Note: As a small business, we’re unable to offer a $0 excess option due to the high risk involved.
PLEASE NOTE: INSURANCE EXCESS REDUCTION IS PER VEHICLE
If damage to the vehicle or equipment is less than the excess amount, you’ll only be charged for the actual repair cost. For example, a $100 dent will incur a $100 charge—not the full excess.
